Collier County offers excellent back-country, on/near-shore or offshore fishing. Before fishing, check local regulations regarding saltwater licenses. Licenses can be obtained at The Collier County Hunting, Fishing and Vessel Registration office in the Tax Collector's office, Building C1, Airport Road & US41 East, or at most bait and tackle shops. When fishing in Florida be careful to avoid oyster bed shoals and sand bars. Also keep a sharp lookout for manatees, a very slow moving mammal. Many die from collisions with speeding boats.
